The Head of Merko in Lithuania, Saulius Putrimas, has been recognised as CEO of the Year 2025 – a Lithuanian leader who has created the greatest added value for employees, shareholders, and society.
In 2025, the Lithuanian Wind Power Association (LVEA) recognised MERKO as the company that has installed the highest number of wind turbine foundations. This recognition once again confirms our team’s accumulated experience, high quality standards, and reliability in delivering the largest wind energy projects.
In the “For Sustainable Development 2021” competition The Balsiai School, built and still maintained and managed by MERKO, received the exclusive Golden Award – the best of the best real estate projects from 2007 to 2020.
In the “For Sustainable Development 2023” awards organised by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA) and the Sustainable Development Academy, the “Vilnelės Skverai” project was recognised as the best residential development in Lithuania.
In the “For Sustainable Development 2022” awards organised by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA) and the Sustainable Development Academy, a Merko Statyba project – the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat building – was awarded as the best public-purpose building.
Health and safety
Merko sites are inspected by designated occupational health and safety coordinators. The company’s working environment specialist, the director responsible for electrical installations and the quality specialist for each site conduct supervision and keep all relevant documentation up to date. These specialists make regular rounds on construction sites and complete assessments on each round, along with suggestions for better organisation of occupational safety. Environmental conservation, user friendliness, security, and the use of innovative solutions in buildings are all important to us. We learn by analysing experience from all over the world.
Quality standards
We ensure the quality of our construction work using a multi-tiered quality control system based on the company’s integrated management system principles, including implementing mechanisms for performing construction oversight. On Merko’s own development projects, quality control starts with involving a qualified owner or customer supervision specialist. In parallel, site personnel perform constant oversight, and Merko’s quality specialists provide consultation and verify compliance with construction technology or quality requirements.
