General construction
General construction consists of the construction of different buildings, from commercial and office buildings, retail and entertainment centres, hotels and spas to public sector and residential and specialist industrial buildings.
Merko provides strategic consulting and quality complete solutions as part of the general contracting service of construction according to the customer’s requirements: preparation, design, construction, interiors and a warranty service.
Building the future
Our residential project Rinktinės Urban was awarded as winner in the Project of the Future category at For Cohesive Development, a contest held by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association. The residential project is at a unique location in Vilnius, between Rinktinės and Šeimyniškių streets in front of the ex-Žalgiris stadium. The previous abandoned space in the centre of Vilnius has turned into a cosy residential area with new homes, a hotel and infrastructure. In the design and construction of the Rinktinės Urban project, we made sure that it seamlessly fits into the environment, the construction adheres to every environmental requirement, and that living here is cosy and comfortable.

PPP projects
Merko has developed several public-private-partnerships and is interested in participating in new ones. Our first PPP-project was Balsiai School, initiated by Vilnius City Municipality and completed in 2011 by UAB Merko statyba, winner of the public tender.
In 2019, we signed an agreement with the Police Department at the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania to perform design and construction works for A++ energy efficiency class buildings as the Kaunas County Chief Police Headquarters.

BIM (Building information modelling)
Merko implements building information modelling to offer our clients a more comprehensive service of higher quality and to improve the efficiency of cooperation between different parties. This advanced solution allows us to create a better image of the existing building and its metrics, to check for the compatibility of different design solutions, calculate the construction quantities for the design and generate 3D visuals. In addition, building simulations make it possible to better assess the future energy needs and management costs as well as user friendliness of the designed building.

BIM modelling process management: BIM models ensure that the design solution is well-elaborated and of high quality design.

Concrete works
The main task of the concrete works department is to offer solutions for buildings and structures made of precast or cast-in-situ concrete, built by the units of Merko Statyba as well as external contractors. The aim of the concrete works department is to manage, carry out and deliver the concrete carcases of a building or structure to the client with an acceptable price and quality and in due time.
Anything from concrete
We can build almost anything from concrete, even wind farms! Thirteen new-generation power plants with a total capacity of up to 70 MW will mean that even more green energy will reach Lithuanian and Estonian consumers. The Merko team completed the foundations for the turbines in the Telšiai district in Lithuania 3 weeks ahead of schedule and all COVID-19 risks were managed.

Did you know that
The building of Kaunas District Chief Police Commissariat built by Merko Statyba is the first A++ class energy-efficient administrative building in Lithuania, and almost all the energy needed for its operation comes from renewable sources.
Development of “Continental Automotive Lithuania” production plant, implemented by Merko Statyba and “BE LIVE” was recognized as the best BIM project for production buildings.
The Quadrum South office building built by Merko Statyba has successfully passed all BRE inspections and received a final BREEAM certificate rated Excellent. The new building was erected in Vilnius, in the Quadrum business centre, at Konstitucijos Ave. 21. It is a nine-storey building with an area of a little more than 10 thousand square meters.
The Merko Statyba project at Vilnelės slėnis was acknowledged as the best BIM project in the category of residential buildings in the awards of the competition “Lithuanian BIM Projects 2019” held during the conference “Digital Construction 2019”
The Hotel Ibis Vilnius Centre constructed by Merko Statyba was awarded the BREEAM New Construction final certificate, rating Good. This is the first BREEAM certified hotel in the Baltic States. This certificate assesses the environmental impact of the building, comfort and well-being of employees and visitors, energy efficiency of the building, ecological conservation and biodiversity.
